Hip
How We Can Help
Soft tissue injuries around the hip are common, particularly among people who participate in sports. The hip has four sets of strong muscles surrounding the joint: the hamstring muscles, quadriceps muscle, adductor muscles and abduhe. Hamstring and quadriceps muscle groups are particularly at risk for muscle strains because they cross both the hip and knee joints. These muscles are also used for high-speed activities such as track and field events, football, basketball, ice hockey and soccer. Here, our aim is to restore full pain free range of motion and strength through progressive exercise, restore eccentric muscle strength and correct agonist/antagonist imbalances. Heat, biopuncture, exercise therapy, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound modalities are used in conjunction with each other during the rehabilitation program to facilitate a return to competition.
